About the Project
The first series of Romanian Portraits took place on Thursday, the 17th of January 2019 in Bradshaw Hall at Royal Birmingham Conservatoire. In this project, I was exploring the diverse aspects of Romanian traditions through music and visual effects. This project aimed to help and give the opportunity to the British public to discover and learn more about Romanian culture and music. After a positive outreach to the community and the audience, I decided to organise it again in 2023.
Testimonials
“You represented yourself and pride in your homeland with passion and professionalism in equal measures”.
“Miriam, while listening to you performance I felt I was attending a concert performed by a professional not a student. I was never bored, there was always something new to discover and look at. You spoke with a lot of confidence and you made me feel always engaged. I was feeling very emotional as well, because some of the pieces you played remained me of my homeland, Serbia.” – Nikola Radic
